About
.

Having created unique art and craft in a variety of artistic media for a lifetime, an Art History degree and interior design background inspired S. A. Macfarlane (SAM) to train in silverwork. This training was the motivation for an extensive range of unique, handmade silver jewellery. Every item is original and of fine quality.

Commissions are undertaken for a wide variety of jewellery as designing for the client is always rewarding; small and unusual requests are encouraged. Sterling silver rings, including engagement and wedding rings are a speciality.

Sterling silver designs involving semi-precious stones, quotes from literature, diachronic glass and the alchemy that is silver clay (PMC+) are a perfect fusion between creative design and skilled craftsmanship.

As a designer-maker SAM is inspired by the world around her and carries her camera everywhere. Living in rural Scotland enables access to some of the world's most beautiful mountains, forests and beaches. It is this wonderful backdrop that helps SAM to carefully consider all commissions providing designs that reflect the personal wishes of each client.

These interests in nature and landscape are juxtaposed with a fascination for the geometry often found in modern art and architecture. Texture, shape, and wearability are the focus of Lucklaw Silver's pieces.
